Get It While It's Still Available!

Today is the summer solstice!

This is your opportunity to get your vitamin D levels back to healthy levels. Your skin makes vitamin D when exposed to adequate sunlight, but unfortunately, living this far north, it is not always possible to get enough for this purpose.

Get outside as much as you can during the summer months taking care to NEVER burn. If your skin starts to turn a little pink, immediately cover up with a t-shirt, long pants, and a hat (or go indoors) to give your skin time to adapt to the increased sunlight. Your tolerance will increase over time.

Benefits of adequate sunlight include improvements in sleep, mood, immune system function, and bone health.
